Canberra: Capital Executive Apartment Hotel Review

If you’re staying in Canberra and are after more than a hotel but not quite in need of a fully decked out apartment this is a great place for you! The hotel is in a pretty great location on Northbourne Avenue, close to the major shopping districts in Canberra. It’s a bit of a drive to major attractions like Questacon and Parliament House but everything in Canberra is so close by that it won’t matter too much at all. The hotel has free underground parking but the spaces are limited and you’ll find yourself having to sneak into spots as quickly as you can. There is a park directly across the road with free parking though. You won’t have any trouble finding a spot for the car.

The studio apartment comes with a balcony, queen sized bed, leather lounge that doubles as a fold out double bed, a large fridge, a bar fridge, a stove, a sink and complimentary Kit Kats. Yes, plural! 5 to be exact! The room sleeps four people without being very squishy which is great for families or groups travelling to Canberra on a budget.

The hotel is by no means 5-star but if you’re not planning on spending too much time in your hotel it’s great! For the price I would probably not recommend it over something more luxurious like Burbury Hotel. The hotel isn’t as nice as its competitors in the same price range and it isn’t as central as some of the others which are arguably more comfortable too.

It’s very roomy and good for families who are happy to share a room; otherwise you’re looking at spending a bit more than average. There is room service and a common eating area in the middle of the hotel which is really squishy and in the way.

I give Capital Executive three stars.
