On Friday March 11, my boyfriend David and I travelled to Norah Head lighthouse where we witnessed the beautiful wedding of two of our lovely friends. But as fun as our time there was, we had to leave the morning after. At 8am it was time to set out and make the 1.5 hour drive home to Sydney. But we weren’t going to waste the beautiful weather! So we turned our trip home into a Central Coast beach road trip.
We stayed at the Sea ‘n Sun Motel in Budgewoi (you can read my review here) so our first stop was the beach we were already at for a lovely stroll by the shore. Then it was time to check out of the motel and find some breakfast. We drove down the road for a delicious brekkie at The Ark coffee and takeaway in Norah Head. After a delicious (and extremely filling) feed we walked down to the Rockpool to burn off the calories.
The rock pool was filled with families so we didn’t hang around long before we decided to move on to our next destination, the Entrance. We spent some time walking through local market stalls before cooling off with a refreshing swim at The Entrance Beach. After an hour in the sun it was time to move on. From here we followed the Central Coast Highway southbound through Long Jetty and on to Avoca Beach. Here we stopped for another dip in the ocean at Avoca Beach.
At 2pm it was finally time to head back home to Sydney. We stayed on the Central Coast Highway, driving through Gosford and back onto the freeway.
Planning on taking the trip?
The drive is very easy and you can spend as long as you like at each beach without having to spend the night away from home. My favourite beach was the Entrance because it was clean and warm and there were a lot less people there.
Normally we go to Umina or Ocean Beach on the Central Coast for our days at the beach so it was nice to experience a couple of different swimming spots.
What’s your favourite beach on the NSW Central Coast?
