Voted Australia’s #1 beach on TripAdvisor, Whitehaven Beach is considered an absolute must-do when visiting Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands.
While I was there I booked the afternoon cruise to Whitehaven Beach.
The cruise departs from Hamilton Island but you can add ferry services on to your ticket when booking. I stayed on Daydream Island so I had to catch the ferry across to Hamilton first.
Once aboard the cruise, you’ll be treated to some commentary on the history and natural wonders of the area. When you arrive you’ll be greeted by the crystal clear aqua waters and pristine white silica sands which stretch for over seven kilometres along Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays.
Once you’re on the beach the crew will set up games for those who’d like to play but you can choose to snorkel, swim, relax in the sun or even go for a bush walk. The itinerary is in your hands.
I couldn’t recommend a trip to Whitehaven beach enough!
