A new hotel on the Osaka Loop Line
Hotel Sobial Osaka is a brand new hotel which opened in October 2016. I booked my five night stay for April 2017 before its grand opening so I knew I was taking a risk. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was perfect.
We stayed in a double room with shower on the ninth floor. The room was quite small, just as you’d expect in Japan, but we didn’t spend too much time in here so it wasn’t an issue. We only had carry-on luggage with us too which fit perfectly in the wardrobe to save space.
Each guest at the hotel has access to the public baths which again were small, buffet breakfast which is a combination of contemporary Japanese and western-style food and free tea, coffee and sweets in the lobby. All of the inclusions for the price you pay makes it worthwhile. Staff were extremely nice and accommodating too.
The location was the best thing about the hotel. The hotel right next to Taisho station which is part of the JR Osaka Loop Line, covered by the Japan Rail Pass. From here you can catch a train to the airport and Osaka’s city centre. It’s really easy.
There are plenty of Japanese restaurants and takeaway stores surrounding the hotel and a karaoke bar right next door. The Shirinashi River is only a three minute walk up the road, as are large shopping centres and supermarkets.
I give Hotel Sobial Osaka four stars.
