Become a ninja and enjoy a delicious meal
If there’s one thing Japan are great it, it’s creating themed restaurants. Visiting a themed restaurant is a popular tourist past time when in Japan so we decided to go with Tokyo’s Ninja Akasaka, partly because it was a five minute walk from the hotel we were staying at and partly because we’d heard great things about it.
I can happily confirm that the raving reviews you’ve heard and read are true – Ninja Akasaka is amazing!
We made a booking before we left Sydney so we wouldn’t miss out which meant we had to make the tough choice between set menus too. We decided to get two separate set menus so we could try a variety of food. We ordered the all black course and the signature course. Each menu was seven courses of modern Japanese cuisine and more than enough food for the two of us!
When we arrived at the restaurant we were led to our table in a small private room by our own personal ninja. Ninjas line the walls, willing to help you find your way to and from the bathrooms so you don’t get lost in the underground tunnels.
Table service was great and every dish clearly explained. We were even treated to a magic show!
It’s quite pricey as far as Japanese restaurants go but I think it’s totally worth it. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!
I give Ninja Akasaka five stars.
