Albury: Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn Review

A great weekend stay right on the Murray

In early January, David and I went on a weekend road trip to Albury/ Wodonga. The hotel we were after needed to have air conditioning and parking and the Hovell Tree Inn had that and more!

Pulling into the underground car park (of which there are two), there are plenty of spaces available. Someone even has a boat on a trailer parked outside! The hotel is located in South Albury which makes it easy to get back on the road and continue to Wodonga and Victoria, or drive into town to see more of Albury. It’s also right across the road from a petrol station, which is handy after you’ve just driven the whole way from Sydney, and the Murray River.

The Inn has a main entrance and another in the car park which guests can use once they’ve checked in. We stayed in the executive king room which lived up to the hotel’s four-star rating with a huge bed, spacious bathroom with walk in shower (my favourite), television, table and chairs, a couch and a kitchenette with a coffee machine. We had a balcony overlooking the reserve behind the hotel and best of all, air conditioning and free WiFi.

There’s also a pool and gym for guests as well as a restaurant. Breakfast isn’t included in the booking but you can pay for that when you check in. We decided to grab breakfast at the local markets and cafes across the road instead.

Overall, we had a pleasant and comfortable stay at the hotel.

I give Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn four stars.
