Old style charm with great views
We stayed in Hotel Höfn for a one-night stopover on our trip around Iceland.
The rooms were a little old and dated but very comfortable. The view out of our large bedroom window made it all worthwhile. The bathroom was very small and we had to store our suitcases in the wardrobe so we had space to move around the room.
We enjoyed a beautiful dinner at the hotel the night we arrived. We ate here because we had a snowmobiling trip in the afternoon and we returned to the hotel late. We were served a lovely roast lamb dinner and dessert. The buffet breakfast was more western than we’d had anywhere else in Iceland which was a combination of breads, cereals and cooked foods.
Overall, I think the hotel’s location made it a beautiful spot for the night in Höfn but the old rooms and cramped bathroom would make it too uncomfortable for more than a night’s stay.
I give Hotel Edda four stars.
